Blush Up
‘A rosy glow, naturally flushed, a peachy tint’. Blush cliches but everything many of us look for when buying or applying blush. Like all of my products, I lean towards creams in the blush department for their seamless application, buildable pigments and luminous finishes. After trialing and testing, these are the three that I find myself blotting onto my cheeks more frequently than others. Read on to find your new favourite…
My personal preference when it comes to blush used to be a crayon stick in the style of NARS The Multiple or NudeStix (below) but the alternative formula that I love and have been reach for more often this year, is a cream/gel and there is no brand that does it better than Glossier. Not only are these the most foolproof blushes out there, they are universally flattering for their incredibly sheer, water like texture that can be built up to suit all skin tones. The incredibly fluid consistency of Cloud Paint allows time for your to play around with the pigment on your skin, adding more where desired or blending in for a softer, more subtle look. There are two colours that I use daily and below, is how I wear each and what I typically pair it with.
Storm
A warm rose that looks divine on bare skin with a deep bronze highlight. A lot moodier and offering a richer pigment, I use this sparingly and focus solely on the high points of my cheeks to lift my face, blending slightly towards the end of my brow.
Puff
A light cool pink that I generously smoosh into the apples of my cheeks, over my cheekbones and up towards my hairline. I love the fresh effect that Puff gives to skin and how it instantly brightens my complexion for a very ‘naturally flushed’ finish. To compliment even more and bring the look together, I dab this onto my lips and lids.
As a brand whose sole purpose is to provide us with multi purpose, cream makeup sticks, it is no surprise that their blushes are some of my favourites. Perfect for achieving that effortlessly fresh and natural look, Nudies Bloom is a collection of sheer, dewy balm colour sticks that add a wash of colour and radiance in one seamless swipe across the cheek. Rich in pigment and long-wearing in coverage, these are the ultimate blushes for fuss-free makeup that makes looking dewy and fresh in the mornings and on the go, easy.
Sweet Peach Peony is exactly how it sounds and perfect for a healthy Spring makeup look. I blot this onto the apples of my cheeks and work upwards, reaching the hair line and blending up to my temples where the light naturally hits. Application is easy, the finish wearable and formula desirable.
