Everyday Beauty

Everyday makeup for me, consists of a glowing and hydrated base with bronzed cheeks, a creamy blush and a touch of bronze or champagne on the eye, that’s if I’m popping to uni into town and haven’t got anything too fancy on to go to. However, if I’m going to meet a friend for lunch/breakfast or am going shopping or to London for the day, I’ll need to slap on some extra products to make sure it’s long wearing, whilst still looking fresh and natural. As we slowly move out of Winter and we are experiencing some signs of Spring, I’ve been slowly updating my beauty stash by frequently rotating the products, adding in some extra glow givers and moving out all powder products to make plenty of space for creamy Spring colours. I’ve rounded up some go to products I reach for on a daily basis, not all on the same day but each day, I tend to mix between these shades, although things have been looking a bit more Spring like this week but we’ll save that for another post.

Craving the lit from within look, the Dior Glow Maximizer is an ideal primer for an everyday look as it’s incredibly glowing and bright, whilst creating an even complexion. On top of this, I’m still loving my By Terry Light Expert Foundation for it’s light consistency, light coverage and natural finish, it smells fruity and fresh, giving a finish that looks healthy and screams youthfulness. My lack of sleep and hugely dehydrated skin is causing some serious dark circles at the moment so my Laura Mercier Secret Concealer has been a must have in the early mornings to help brighten the area whilst lightly covering any darkness and my Urban Decay Naked Skin has been perfect for covering pesky blemishes or redness around my nose and chin.

To sculpt my face without looking too contoured and structured, I’ve been using the Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow Duo in 4 to shade and illuminate, the contour shade I simply smudge just below my cheek bones and around my temples whilst highlighting with the candlelight illuminator to add a beautiful soft glow on the high points of my face. Sticking to the creams, I’ve hardly been using powder blushes lately and am loving my MAC Lady Blush CreamBlend and Kevyn Aucoin Tansoleil, both are super buttery and blend on top of my makeup seamlessly, adding a flush of colour.

I love using champagne hues on my eyes to really brighten and highlight the lids and inner corner and my go to’s this month have been a newbie from Rosie HW Makeup Range, the Eye Shadow Stick in Almond Eyes, an old favourite from Charlotte Tilbury; Jean and for a more smokey bronze eye I’ll smudge in some Chanel Caroube. To lengthen my lashes, I either use DHC Mascara* which is ultra light or for more of a curl and length then I’ll use my favourite affordable product, the Bell Cosmetics Dark Brown Mascara.

I’ve not been using lipstick much lately as my lips have been extremely dehydrated so am smearing on lip balm all day, but three products I’ve fallen in love with and use when I need more than a balm, are the Rodail XXL Lip Liner in Baby*, Dior Addict Lip Maximizer and Rosie HW Nude Minky Lipstick, all are perfect everyday shades as they are light, hydrating and balmy and look very fresh and natural. Of course, some days I’ll reach for my old favourite lip combo of Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Liner paired with By Terry Baume De Rose in Rosy Babe on top, this is the perfect Spring lip to tie together a fresh complexion.
