The Best Brushes For Contouring
Skincare is without a doubt, the art to beautiful makeup. For me, it's skincare that is the most important step in my morning and evening routine and the one thing I take care in doing and invest in. To have flawless makeup, you need a good skincare routine, however, having the correct tools and makeup brushes to apply the makeup is the next important thing before the makeup itself. With a cleansed and moisturised face, it’s time to put the makeup you love on and create the looks that make you feel powerful and confident but I’m taking it back a step today and focussing on the brushes. Applying my makeup in the morning really is my ‘me’ time, I love spending hours in front of the mirror, playing around with different looks/products and finding what works for me. I’ve been collecting makeup brush for a good two years now and really believe that investing in some luxe, well made and long lasting brushes is vital.
RODIAL:
A brand that has transformed the way I view and use skincare, helped me master the dewy, fresh makeup look and one that provides me with brushes that apply my products effortlessly and professionally. Each of Rodial brushes have such beautifully soft bristles that make application a pleasure and the finish, simply stunning. Two of my favourites from the range are the Powder* and the Sculpting* brush, both designed to apply powder products. The Powder Brush is ideal for a light dusting of powder on the areas where needed or to brush on some bronzer across the perimeter of your face or in the cheek bones. With a large brush head, it picks up just enough powder to deliver the right amount of product to the face. The Sculpting brush has been designed in an angular shape to provide tightly packed bristles that really get into the hollows of your cheek and glide across the jaw bone. Whether your sculpting your face with a strong contour or want to add in definition with bronzer, it’s great multi tasking brush for a fresh, photo ready finish.
LANCÔME:
With a love for luxury brushes, I absolutely adore the Cheek and Contour brush from Lancôme, I brand I haven’t explored much in terms of makeup but one that delivers luxe brushes that help sculpt and beautify my face. With a tapered end which sits perfectly on the apples of the cheeks, this is my go to brush for powder blush application, the soft bristles pick up a perfect amount of product likewise to Rodial and applies a lovely flush of colour where I’m focussing on the apples directly or want to brush upwards to wards the perimeter of my face to blend in with my bronzer. The other end, a flat contour brush which is ideal for blending in cream contour into the hollows of my cheeks and adding some highlight to the high points of my face, both cream and powder.
