A Visual Postcard from Croatia
2 flights, 3 ferries, 2 katamaran's, 1 moped and 5 islands (plus 1 sea urchin attack, 1 wasp sting and 1 foot cut open) 6 weeks and 800 photos later. Continuing on my Croatia Travel Series, having done island guides and a 48 hour in Dubrovnik post today I wanted to share some of my favourite photos from our trip in a visual postcard style post. For me, there isn't much that beats blue skies, turquoise waters, reading in the sun, snorkelling and exploring new places, so a six week adventure around Croatia was the perfect trip. There is many a story to tell from this trip and many happy memories filled with laughs, love, food and wine.
The SΓ΄lta Islands
This day is one of my favourite memories of our travels. We spent the first two weeks staying with my family and hired a boat. We explored the SΓ΄lta islands, snorkelled, swam and had lunch at a delicious fish restaurant and enjoyed wine and seafood in the sun with the ocean by our side. Many a happy memory of this day. Kai & I then returned to the island for 3 days to start our 6 week trip.
Island Brac, Bol
We had the craziest weather when in Bol; lots of sunshine but also some big storms and floods. One evening, we stood outside for about an hour in the biggest electric, thunder and rain storm we've experienced and watched fork lightening over the island.
Island Korcula; Zavalatica
This beach was the most magical place. After one long walk we arrived and it was breathtaking. The water was such a bright aqua, the trees green, the skies blue and the rocks glistening in the sun. We set up a spot on the rocks and spent the afternoon reading, sunbathing and snorkelling.
Mljet
Mljet was one of our favourite islands. Each corner is so tranquil and untouched, it felt as though the island was ours.
Dubrovnik
Exploring the narrow side streets, finding lunch spots and beginning to walk the City Walls.
Croatia, we loved you and we will be back.
