Holiday Travel Beauty Bag
For probably the first time in my life, I got my beauty travel back down to a T this year and managed to pack all eh right products and didn't miss anything out, this is a very regular thing as I usually either forget my favourite coral lipstick or just bring everything and anything. By the time this goes live, I will already be on holiday but I've been doing a lotto of pre holiday post planning and managed to get a weeks worth scheduled to keep you all occupied! Back to the post... As I'm on a beach holiday, my makeup will be very minimal and I'll mainly be sticking to creating focus on the eyes or lips and leaving the skin as bare as it can be. Once I've bronzed up my skin a little in the sun I will be braving it and going base free, embracing natural beauty and my natural skin. I will mainly be using creamy highlights and blushes to enhance my features but I will be sharing with you my go to holiday look at some point which will have all the details in. I usually pack my travel beauty bag about 3-4 days in advance and then use the products in it to get a feel for what I'm going to be using and to work out what kind of looks I can create, if Im taking something I don't need or if I've forgotten something vital, I find this works really well and this year, it enabled me to create the perfect holiday beauty bag. I'm feeding off highlights and poppy peach cheeks this summer but let's see what else is in my travel bag...
BASES: For the first couple of the days before I get really bronzed, I'll be wanting something to even out my skin tone and to add a touch of coverage so I'm bringing my Laura Mercer Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser which is the most natural looking base I've got and it adds a beautiful holiday glow all over. I've also added in my Lancome Hydra Glow Primer for the evenings when I'm going base free but want some added radiance, this is great to slap on all over and it really lights up my face. For something a little more intense and shimmer based, I added in my Nourish Face Illuminator which will look beautiful with a tan due to the golden hues. I've then got my NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer to keep dark circles hidden away.
CHEEKS: For bronzer I've brought my NARS Laguna as it's the most natural looking and is the perfect holiday shade. I've also got my two favourite NARS Multiple Sticks in South Beach, a warm toned bronze that highlights and defines and Orgasm, the perfect cream holiday glow giving blush. I went a bit crazy on the highlighters and kind of just chucked in all my favourites so I have a mix of champagne, pearlescent and golden hues so I've got Benefit Watt's Up & High Beam, my Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Duo which has a handy cream bronzer in too for some subtle contour and lastly my No7 Radiance Stick, highlighter crazy, I know. I couldn't go without my beloved Kevyn Aucoin Tonsoleil Creamy Blush and Sleek Rose Gold Blush.
EYES: Now for eyes I've got my NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Primer which is just the best for keeping on eye shadow. A holiday wouldn't be the same without my NARS Dual Intensity Palette as it has every shade I'll need and the pigmented metallic finishes are ideal for a summer holiday. I'm also taking a couple of the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks in Amethyst and Rose Gold. For brows I've just got my Eyeko Brow Gel and mascara wise, I'm taking a new favourite which is the Urban Decay Perversion Lashes.
LIPS: Lips wise I've packed a fair few options just so I have the choice of a balm, something matte, a red or a nude, you've got to cater for all looks when it comes to lips! I've got my Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Liner, two of the By Terry Baume De Rose Nutri Couleur in Rose Baby and Cherry Bomb, my NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Marjella which is a beautiful red, a Lipstick Queen Lip Pencil in Pink Bluff and then my Ren Lip Balm.
TOOLS: I'm taking as few brushes as I can this year as I find on holiday, I tend to just go in with my fingers with most products, especially as there is a lot of creams as they blend much easier and appear more natural when applied with fingers. However, there are some products I can't use my fingers for such as bronzer and the odd eye shadow so I'll be taking my Real Technique Blush Brush, MAC 286, Real Technique Expert Face Brush, MAC 187 (ideal for a light dusting of bronzer) and my Real Technique Miracle Complexion Sponge. I'm also taking my tweezers to get those pesky stray hairs!
