Weekly Favourites #4
It's this time of the week again, weekly favourites. As always, I've been mixing around between products this week and have actually been trying out a few new goodies so I thought this would be a good time to tell you a little about them. I'm still keeping my lips pretty simple, nothing too bright or matte and for my cheeks I've been loving 'all in one' face palettes. There's been a lot of obsessing over these products, let me tell you and let me tempt you...
Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in Strip:
To finish off my base, I always reach for a bronzer, blush and highlight, usually NARS Laguna, a MAC cream blush and one of my many Benefit highlighters but this week I've been reaching for this palette which has everything I need. If I'm in a rush and don't have time to choose which colours to wear then this is ideal, the bronzer adds a warm glow, the blush is a beautiful mauve which perks up the apples of my cheeks and the highlighter is a gorgeous golden champagne shade which I swipe over my cheek bones and down my nose. To touch up on the go, or to take in a travel bag this is a really handy palette to have, it's got everything you need for a flawless base.
Revlon Highlighting Palette: This is one of those products that doesn't get enough attention in the beauty world as it should. This compact little product is a pretty much the same as a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, 6 shades which blend together for the a subtle glow and a hint of colour. This shimmering brush on powder adds a bronzed glow when lightly dusted onto my cheeks. If I'm wearing this then I skip bronze, blush and highlighter altogether and just go straight in with this over my base.
Lančome Cheek & Contour Brush: After dedicating my Real Techniques Blush Brush for bronzer, I've been looking for the perfect blush brush ever since... that was when this double ended brush came into my life. This is the ultimate blush brush, the flat bristles pick up a good amount of product and it fits my cheek perfectly, adding a pop of colour. I've been using the smaller other end of the brush to apply my powder highlighters as it is small enough to add a glow to the high points, but nothing that takes over the whole face.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer: To cover any dark circles and small blemishes this has been my go to concealer this week. The super creamy consistency feels weightless on the skin and whilst it is ace at brightening the eye area, it's also pretty awesome at concealing spots. Paired with my NARS Sheer Glow this is the ultimate base duo, dewy, medium coverage with a hint of extra coverage from the concealer.
Burt's Bees Watermelon Tinted Lip Balm: I've been ditching the made up lips recently and have been digging a natural lip balm. Of course I still want a hint of colour so these tinted balms are ideal. Although they are very moisturising and nourishing, they add a light semi-matte stain on the lip.
Burberry Nude Beige Kissing Lipstick: If I'm not wearing my Burt's Bees lipstick then I'll be wearing this. The very very neutral shade works with nearly every makeup look I've tried recently, particularly with a pink cheek. The formula of these lipsticks is actually really build-able, you can either dab it on or build it up for an intense colour, they are incredibly moisturising and have pretty good lasting power. This release was very well received in the beauty world and one I think many people will be jumping on the band wagon of..
