Burberry Kisses
I'm always on the prowl for a new lipstick so when I saw Burberry were releasing their new Kisses Lipstick* I was very excited, but to see they were giving away free samples on Twitter, I could not wait to get my hands on one. I've never tried Burberry makeup before so I was keen to see what the hype was about, especially after watching Lily Pebbles' video creating a look with all Burberry products. I've been pairing this with pretty much any makeup look, a brown smokey eye, a pop of pink on the cheek or even just a light bronzed face, I am obsessed.
The collection has an amazing 28 shades and here I have my favourite; Nude Beige 01. The colour is a very neutral, pale nude which is a lovely chic shade for this time of the year. This definitely isn't a pink nude, nor is it a brown nude, it's kind of in between TopShop Naturist and MAC Velvet Teddy so basically my perfect lipstick shade. The coverage is vey build-able, you can apply a light layer for a thin wash of colour or you can really layer it up for much more intense lip, if I'm going for a smokey-ish eye then I will add about 2 layers of this to really amp things up. Formula wise, they are moisturising and nourishing leaving a slight sheeny finish. Despite loving my matte lips, for more natural shades I find a bit of shine is very complimentary and won't dry your lips out, leaving your lipstick cracked and sitting in the dry patches of your lips. These are very light weight lipsticks, making them ideal for layering and I don't know about you, but I love makeup which I can layer.
As this is a sample size, the lipstick is a lot smaller but it is the same sophisticated packaging; the classic Burberry beauty packaging. For a clutch sized lipstick, this is a pretty good size, big enough not to lose in the bottom of your bag but also small enough to slip into your handbag or clutch on an evening out. Becoming completely obsessed with this lipstick was probably a bad idea considering they are £25 a pop but I have to say now, I will definitely be going back to pick up another shade, I'm think Oxblood for a deep berry red or Nude Pink for a natural, fresh look.
