NARS Dual Intensity Eye Shadow Palette
When NARS first released this beautiful palette, there was a huge buzz in the beauty world, everyone from makeup artist, bloggers and general makeup addicts were talking about, I was envious of anyone who had it. The NARS Dual Intensity Eye Shadow Palette has been on my wish list for a serious amount of time now and considering £45 is an amazing price for 8 shades, I never had the chance to pick it up. This all changed when I went to a NARS event in Bath and international makeup artist Helena Kastensson used some of the shades on my Mum and I, I was sold. I now see what the hype is all about and here is why...
I adore the packaging of this palette, the medium size case is sophisticated and sleek with a clear mirror on the front, which is finger print free as it has a clear plastic cover, even better. Inside we have a large mirror and 8 beautiful, wearable shades. This is worth £112 all together so whilst you have the chance to pick it up for £45, I would encourage you all to do so! When it comes to buying a palette and I am on the edge of entering the card details, something that will push me over the edge is when they come with a brush, I think it is so much better and makes the palette so much more handy for on the go travel. The NARS brush inside is small enough to carry on the go but big enough to easily apply the eye shadow.
Lets get to the most exciting bit of all and the bit you are all waiting for, the eye shadows themselves. Each shade has an intense metallic finish and can be applied dry or wet. In terms of the shades, from left to right we have Europa, a pale peach, Himalia, a golden bronze, Ursa Major, a new dark chocolate matte brown, Subra, a dark burgundy pearly brown, Andromeda, a super duper pale pink pearl, Lysithea, a silver/grey with olive undertones, Glove, an intense metallic navy blue and Sycoraxx, a very intense shimmery black. When applied dry the shadows are highly pigmented, creamy and blend-able. They don't drop onto the face, cake or crease, these really are the perfect formulas. Now, when they are applied wet, oh my god was I impressed, this was another serious 'wow' moment, the effects were incredible. The shadows applied so much more creamy and metallic, my eyes were illuminated with a strong amount of colour. I love how build-able the powders are, you can pack the colours on top of each other and really blend it all together or you can create gradual gradients where the colours merge into one another. There isn't one shade in the palette I wouldn't wear, they are all so versatile, you can create simple day looks with Europa, Andromeda and Himalia and then you can add Lysthia and Sycoraxx on top for an intense dark eye.
This palette will definitely be popping up in many more posts and I already know it is going in my March Favourites! With every shade you need for day time and evening looks, this is the ultimate eye shadow palette. NARS you really are the best.
