Valentines Make Up

As Valentines day is right around the corner, I wanted to share with you a makeup look I think would be suitable for the occasion. I actually wore this to my Dad's party the other weekend and it was extremely comfortable and long lasting so would be perfect for any special event/occasion you have coming up. When it came to choosing the products I wanted to use (the hardest part) I opted for a full coverage flawless base, a gold smokey eye and a bright red lip, so here is what I did to make me look super glamorous!

For my base I wanted something very long lasting as I would be wearing my makeup all evening so I went for my trusty Giorgio Armarni Luminous Silk which leaves me a dewy, medium to full coverage finish. To conceal my dark circles my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind did the job perfectly as always and then to brighten my under eye area I applied the EstΔ“e Lauder BB Brush on Glow in 01 in a triangle motion. I applied all of this with a beauty blender as I find that gives the most professional looking flawless skin and ensures everything is evenly blended in together. As I was going for a very glamorous look, I wanted really defined cheek bones so for a strong contour I mixed the two bronze shades in my Kiko Sculpting Powder and applied it to the hollows of my cheeks. To add some extra warmth to my face I lightly dusted over some NARS Laguna Bronzer. To highlight my cheek bones, cupids bow and nose I used Benefit Watt's Up and just applied it with my fingers. As I was focussing on a contoured face and a red lip I didn't want anything too bright for my blusher so I lightly swirled some NARS Torrid on my cheeks.

With my base, contour, bronzer, blush and highlight done I moved onto my eye brows, marked out the beginning, arch and end with my Sleek Brow Kit and filled them in with my Soap and Glory Brow Archery. I love using my Bobbi Brown Warm Glow eye shadow palette at the moment, it is perfect for parties and the winter season. I took the top left shade Flesh and used this as my base colour all over the lid. Next I used a dense shadow brush and pressed Velvet Gold (bottom left) all over my lid but not going over the crease line. This is a beautiful deep gold shade which adds the perfect metallic sparkle. To add some definition I took Beige (top middle shade) and put this in my crease. I took a fluffy blending brush to blend everything out, making sure I had no harsh lines. For super long luscious lashes I used YSL Baby Doll.

To finish of the look I lined my lips with MAC Brick Liner, marking out the cupids bow and slightly over drawing my lip line to make my lips appear bigger and more plump. I couldn't decide between MAC Dubonnet or Rimmel Provocalips but as I wanted a true bright red and something very long lasting, I went for Rimmel Provocalips in Play With Fire. This is such a gorgeous stand out red, it didn't dry out my lips and it lasted all evening! Although I did have to attack my lips with numerous face wipes, toner and cotton pads to get it all off! To furthur enhance my lips I added the same highlighter to the centre of my lips and went around the edges again with my lip liner.

Of course when wearing a red lip you've gotta have red nails, especially as it is Valentines Day! Bobbi Brown Siren Red is what I wore, (sadly no longer available) but they have released a gorgeous red for Valentines here. An affordable red nail option? Rimmel 60 Second Nail Polish in Central Love Heart. To make your polish last a little longer, try applying a top coat. I use the No7 Gel Look Shine.

So there is my valentines makeup look, what look are you going for on valentines day?

If any of you re create or get inspiration from this then I would love for you to tweet me a photo!
