January Favourites
A big welcome to the first of many monthly favourites on jasminehardingmakeup! I'm going to start doing a favourite videos at the end of each month so I can share with you all the products I have been loving throughout the month, some will have already been featured in other posts but there will also be some new beauty bits that haven't been mentioned before! January really has flown by, it doesn't seem a month ago that I was doing my 2014 favourites! From hair products to skincare to makeup, I've been lucky enough to try some new products in Jan and I've been bringing back some golden oldies. Starting with hair care, lets get started.
Hair Care: Charles Worthington Texturising Spray: Having borrowed my mums Oribe texturising spray and loving it a little too much, I have been lusting after if for a long time but I just couldn't justify spending £39 on it so I've been on a drugstore alternative hunt for a long time, and have finally found one that matches Oribe expectation.... The Charles Worthington Texturising Spray available for £6.99. The spray leaves my hair feeling refreshed and full of texture without feeling sticky or crusty and gives my hair so much more volume.
Skin Care: Una Brennan Mirco Bead Polish Daily Face Wash: To wash my face in the morning I love using an exfoliating polish to really brighten, refresh and wake up my skin. I take the Una Brennan polish with some warm water and massage it into my skin, buffing away any dead/dull skin cells revealing a clean and clear base. In the past I have used The Body Shop Micro Polish but I find the Una Brennan one more abrasive and works better as an exfoliant.
Make Up:
Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation: I won't go into too much detail on this one as I have a full review here, but towards the end of Jan this has been my daily choice for my base. The finish is so beautiful, giving my juciy skin with a natural glow and is a much lighter coverage than what I usually go for.
Soap and Glory Brow Archery: Having been a huge lover of brow gel and relying on that to tame my brows, when it comes to going out or when I'm wearing a full face of makeup, I prefer my brows to look more defined and arched. This wax pencil has wriggled it's way into my makeup routine and natural fills in my brows giving me the structure I'm after.
: The easiest and most practucal shadow stick to use on a day to day basis. The matte shade with a hint of shimmer changes my makeu routing from 'Agh' to 'Ahh. If I'm doing a glamorous golden smokey eye then this works as a great base colour to make my eye shadow more long lasting. At such an affordable price, these are definitely going to be a favourite of mine for a long time!
Laura Mercier Baked Eye Shadow (Ballet Pink): After rummaging through my makeup back at the start of Jan, I found this beautiful champagne eye shadow which used to be an old fav of mine! The natural shade really highlights my eyes and makes them stand out.
Maybelline The Falsies: Simply the best drugstore mascara, even topping some of my high ends! The curved wand makes my lashes appear so much thicker and more dramatic, making my eyes pop! If you're looking for an affordable mascara, this is the drugstore one I would recommend!
Sleek Blushers: Having only ever used high end blushers, I have been on the hunt for a perfect drugstore alternative and Sleek blushers are an incredible option. The colour range is so fab, from pinks and peaches there is a shade for everyone. The high pigmentation ensures longevity meaning they last all day and the shade Rose Gold is my go to colour for glowy cheeks.
Urban Decay Flushed Palette (Strip)
: For an all in one palette, this is the best on the market. With a bronzer, highlighter and blusher, I've been using this a lot whether it's using each colour all together or just the bronzer alone. This a very handy hand bag palette! Full review here.
Nails: Barry M: I've been loving cool toned/muted colours on my nails this month and my Barry M polishes have been my go to shades, a light brown and a dark purple/grey are really easy to wear every day colours.
