High End Beauty Products Of The Month
May was very much a month of new beauty discoveries for me, focussing on dewy skin and bright eyes, creating fresh makeup looks with the products I love.
Light, fresh bases are the perfect way to add colour, radiance and a little bit of coverage in Summer as they simply look like your skin, but better. I've recently switched my base to a new favourite from Bare Minerals, Complexion Rescue* and it's as been my base of the month as it's perfect for everyday use with it's incredibly glowy, healthy looking finish. The formula blends beautifully onto the skin and can be left sheer or built up for a touch more coverage. Worn either with a light application of concealer and bronzer or as part of my full makeup routine, it allows other makeup to really become apart of the skin and doesn't ever cake or cause products to sit on top of my skin. With an SPF15, I have been getting my skin protection and coverage, everyday.
Concealing is a big part of my morning routine as I always have dark circles in the corner of my eye and throughout May, I've been using this wonder product from Charlotte Tilbury; The Retoucher. An eye brightening concealer that covers anything from a dark circle, redness or a blemish and keeps everything concealed throughout the day. For the best results, I blend this in with my fingers as this way, you don't drag the product across the skin, it presses in for a good coverage. I've also been using the Bare Minerals Serum Concealer* on days when I don't need so much concealing, and want something a little more moisturising under the eye.
Highlighter is one of my favourite steps in any makeup routine, whether it's a fresh day look worn alone or a full coverage look, it not only transforms the skin but pulls the look together and is the best way to fake glowing skin. The soft liquid No Highlighter Highlighter from Perricone MD* has been brightening my base each day in May as it blends seamlessly onto the skin and each morning, I apply it where I really want to brighten and illuminate; cheekbones, cupids bow, bridge of the nose and my brow bones. The easy applicator makes this great for on the go too as you can simply dot it on and pat it in. With a pearly, champagne hue, it's lovely for the days when you want something subtle that doesn't look too much or too fake, it looks as though you are naturally glowing.
To help get sun kissed skin, once I've blending in my base and concealer, I'll dust over some of my favourite bronzing powder from Rodial*. This incredibly luxe bronzer is a beautiful powder that warms up your cheeks, adds radiance, glow, definition and helps to sculpt those cheek bones. If I'm not using my go to NARS Laguna, this is what I reach for and with it's slightly deeper bronze shade, I've been reaching for it most days throughout May.
If I'm applying makeup early in the morning or on days when I look more tired than usual, I line my water line with the Charlotte Tilbury Rock n Kohl Eye Cheat as the warm cream colour helps to brighten, widen and open the eye without looking as heavy as a black eye pencil. The formulation of Charlotte Tilbury's pencils is so soft and light, they glide on without irritating the eye and give a very natural finish, with the ability to blend and smudge for a more natural look.
I'm constantly adding to my skincare collection and have many many favourites (you can see my current favourites here) but my current must haves, are an eye makeup remover from Clarins which takes off any makeup on the eye so easily, it doesn't leave your eyes feeling greasy nor does it pull on your lashes. Masks are a very important step in my skincare routine and I try to use one around 3-4 times a week. The Origins Original Skin Mask is a beautiful pink, rose clay mask that hydrates, nourishes and plumps whilst giving your skin a good clean, drawing out any impurities.
