The Travel Beauty Edit
Let me take you on a tour of my beauty stash that’s kept my skin hydrated and luminous, limbs glistening, hair silky and smooth and everything else that comes with all of that for the past few months… When it came to streamlining the initial pile, I had to be ruthless and ask myself, will I need a pot of peony face mask when on a deserted island in Fiji? The answer - it would be nice but let’s be honest with each other, you really won’t. The same went for some serums, body oils, etc… I soon came to terms with the fact that my beauty routine is going to be a lot more minimal than it’s been for the past 5 years but that’s ok as I’m travelling, embracing island life and going au naturalé for a while. This is when my essentials and luxuries list came in handy that I made in this blog post - the stuff I really needed, such as a cleanser, SPF and thick cream versus the things I like to call ‘nice to haves’, such as my eye gels and spot remover.
Once I’d removed all products that wouldn’t be coming with me, I started thinking sensibly and gathered all my minis together that I’d been saving for the trip and put together, what I think is a pretty manageable in size and weight wash bag of utter joy (some extravagant products that I probably didn’t need to bring with me but it’s all a learning curve).
