The Glowing Skincare Guide
Welcome to the glow station… On here sits the best ingredients to brighten and enhance your skins glow and my favourite products to do the job.
L’ASCORBIC ACID (VIT C)
The ultimate skincare powerhouse that is suitable for all skin types and an ingredient that I believe everyone should be using in their routine. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that evens out skin tone, brightens the complexion, shields skin from external aggressors such as pollution and helps to reduce the visibility of pigment spots. It’s available in different strengths (check the % and begin to build up your skin’s tolerance) and in many different product types and formulas. This is my absolute go-to ingredient.
LACTIC ACID (AHA)
An alpha hydroxy acid extracted from milk that acts as a chemical exfoliant for the skin by breaking down the bonds that bind together dead skin cells on your skin’s surface. The exfoliation process removes any dead skin that was clogging pores and dulling the skin’s surface, revealing soft, renewed and radiant skin beneath.
GLYCOLIC ACID (AHA)
The most common of the alpha hydroxy acid’s, glycolic helps to brighten uneven skin tone, fade dark marks and remove any bumps on the skin by shedding dead skin cells and encouraging cell turnover. Available in serums, treatments, lotions and creams so make your choice depending on your preferred formula!
SALICYLIC ACID (BHA)
A beta-hydroxy acid that works in the same way as an aha by helping to shed dead skin cells, however, salicylic acid has the ability to penetrate into the pore lining, unclogging and removing any excess sebum that can cause breakouts. An essential ingredient in your skincare routine for smooth, glowing skin and perfect for those that are prone to redness, breakouts and irritation.
