Beauty Routine Updates
Time for another beauty update with some new and old products I've added into my transitional routine for prep my skin for Summer with super supple body oils and travel friendly eye capsules and jazz up my makeup bag with apricot hues, shimmering eye shadows and creamy contours.
The first update is in the eye department and I've switched around my slightly thicker eye creams for the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Advanced Youth Restoring Eye Capsules which are far lighter, more nourishing, sinking into the skin easily and help keeping everything bright and radiant. These handy capsules are ideal for Summer travelling; long distance, staycations or overnight trips as the pot is light enough to carry or you can simply pop the right amount of capsules into your wash bag and take them anywhere with you.
Since my SkinCeuticals HA serum ran out my skin was really struggling in regards to texture, how it felt and how it looked; dry and lacked it's usual healthy glow. I put this down to lack of Hyaluronic Acid in my routine so picked up the The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum as I'd heard it was a great HA option. My skin has being drinking this stuff each morning and evening and the results really have been (almost) as good as the SkinCeuticals; my complexion is plumper, more even, smoother and my daily glow has been restored. A few drops go a long way and it sinks into the skin instantly leaving no sticky or tacky feeling behind.
I tend to stick to cream blushes only in my daily makeup routine as I love how they give a real look of naturally flushed cheeks that are ultra radiant but when this By Terry Compact-Expert Dual Powder has been the perfect powder alternative. This beautiful apricot and peach shimmer duo gives a really healthy wash of colour across the cheeks that is pigmented enough and blends seamlessly into the skin to brighten my complexion. The perfect Summer blush shade that goes well on skin alone or over a base and/or bronzer.
It's been a while since I've spent time buffing eye-shadows in and most days g bare or blend some bronzer into the lids but I've recently brought back the BECCA Jacyln Hill Eye Shadow Palette into my makeup bag and the colours are truly tremendous - just look at that copper shimmer. The pigments are rich, intense and buttery that blend all over the lids super quickly, easily and require minimum fuss, which is what I'm after.
Bases for me have always been about the glow and I rely heavily on my skincare for this but the Erborian Glow Crème* has been giving me that radiance boost each morning over the past month. I smooth over the pearlescent cream before going in with my tinted moisturiser and it just slightly illuminates without being too shimmery or glittery and it preps the skin perfectly for makeup going on top. You could even mix this in with foundation if you want to lighten things up for Summer or wear alone with a creamy blush and bronze.
I love everything about sculpted cheek bones and a chiselled jaw and the Kevyn Aucoin Contour Powder will still be my favourite but to keep things creamy and quick in the morning that provides me with killer cheekbones, the Rosie for Autograph Starstruck Contour* has been a saviour. Super buttery, blend-able, matte and the perfect shade for adding some warmth to the cheeks and temples too, this has been my go-to for a sun-kissed, strong cheekbone look in the morning.
I'm all for glossy, shiny limbs in Summer and have been slathering my skin in the L'occitane Almond Supple Skin Body Oil* in the AM and PM this past week. Not only does this smell divine, it offers serious hydration and nourishment, making my pins, arms and décolletage glisten in the sun. For easy application it's got a spray pump and a few sprays all over goes a long way with this dry body oil.
