New Makeup for Spring

With Spring (slowly) coming around, I've switched up some products in my makeup bag, adding new formulas, shades and a lot of shimmer into my current looks. I've been taking lots of inspiration from the Parisian makeup lately and focussing on creating super minimal looks where the skin is left bare with a strong flushed cheek and an eye or lip focus. Finish wise, as always things are ultra glossy, natural and I've been blending with my fingers to give an illusion of soft focus, lit from within skin that looks untouched.

Rosie for Autograph Miracle Concealer*: Ever since my Laura Mercier Secret concealer came to the end of it's time I've been looking for a creamy, lightweight alternative, which is when this 'miracle concealer' made it's way into my makeup bag. Coming in a twist up cream stick, this is super easy to apply, incredibly blend-able and provides enough coverage to hide dark circles, redness and small blemishes, all whilst leaving skin looking flawless and healthy. I've been dabbing this on with my fingers which is my favourite current to apply all products and it presses into the skin seamlessly, hydrates and doesn't slip off or stick to dryness.

Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick*Having been an avid user of the NARS Velvet Matte Lipsticks, I've never really gone off track and tried anything else, until these launched from Laura Mercier. The formula is non-drying, long-wearing and intensely pigmented leaving lips looking full and bursting with colour but never dry. My current favourite shade is Power, this immense bright red shade that is perfect for simple, glossy skin Spring/Summer beauty looks when lips are the focus.

Rosie for Autograph Starstruck Cheek Sticks*I've always loved using cream textures on my skin and most of my makeup looks lately entail all cream products from bases to bronzer and blush. Having tried many of the cream cheek sticks including the NARS Multiples and Clinique Chubby Sticks, these lip and cheek colours from Rosie for Autographs makeup range are the best around. Since these arrived I've been using them everyday, switching between the shades Pink and Rose or blending each together for a tailored cheek colour. In a sleek rose gold stick, the formula of these is so buttery, creamy and light that the products blend so beautifully into the skin simply giving the look of naturally flushed, glowing cheeks. Again, I blend these in with my fingers and as they are so lightweight, the colour is really build-able allowing the colour to be built up for a bright flush or left bare. The finish on the skin is luminous and incredibly natural which is everything I look for in makeup and I've even been dabbing these onto my lips for a tinted colour.

Lanolips Tinted Balm SPF 30*Lip balms, tinted or neutral are the only lip specific products I use throughout the day. Once I've applied colour in the morning with my cheek sticks I'll go over with a balm and re-apply throughout the day. In terms of lip balms, I have my favourites; Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments, By Terry Baume de Rose, Burts Bees and Lanolips. The Lanolips Rose Tinted Balm contain SPF 30 which makes it an ideal Summer lip product, the formula is ultra conditioning on the lips and the super natural tint of colour keeps my makeup looking healthy and minimal.

Cover FX Shimmer Veils*: Aka, the most exciting launch in my makeup bag so far this year. These beautiful metallic, shimmer creams from Cover FX are the perfect topping for lids this Spring/Summer. The formula is almost like a whipped mousse allowing seamless application and blend-ability and the colours are intensely pigmented offering a bright, glossy, holographic finish. I'm obsessed with this new launch and can't stop wearing them. Moonstone is the perfect champagne, peach toned blush shade whilst Amethyst is more of a shimmering topaz, both ideal for day and evening makeup looks that make your beauty looks stand out.

It Cosmetics Hello Lashes MascarasFor lashes I'm enjoying using a mascara that adds lots of length but isn't too heavy for day to day. I like to keep my lashes looking natural so two brushes of this lengthening and drama building mascara from It Cosmetics has been perfect. The mid sized wand and rounded end for precise inner and outer corner application really opens the eye and spreads the lashes evenly to avoid clumps.

Rosie for Autograph Cream Shadow Stick*: Another product that I used to always rely on from the likes of NARS and Laura Mercier is cream eye shadow sticks. I use this kind of product day to day again for their effortless application, longevity and colour offerings. I've now added two of Rosie's sticks into my collection and both are making their way into my day to day looks. 'Sparkle and Magic' is the perfect neutral yet slightly smokey brown colour whereas Almond Eyes is a true gold shimmer.

Rosie for Autograph Gel Liner*: Having never really tried eye-liner flicks and one who usually keeps her eyes looking clean and bare, I was really surprised when I saw myself reaching for and loving the flicks this gel liner created. Like most of Rosie's products, her liner is incredibly creamy and blend-able so it glides on for a smooth, perfected finish that looks chic and natural. My favourite way to style this into my makeup looks is with a really natural 'barely there' base; concealer, cheek sticks for a bright flush, balmy lips and a strong liner which creates super chic, Parisian esque beauty.
