My Hair Care & Styling Routine
Another one of my everyday routines but this time I'm talking HAIR. I'm lucky enough to have always had hydrated, healthy hair that manages to maintain a pretty good shine all year around and is easy to style. I've always had long hair, had it chopped into a long bob last Summer and now am back at that mid length, below the collar bone and chest level, which I'm happy with. My hair routine does involve a number of products but each are super low maintenance so time and ease is kept to a minimum. Starting with shampoos and ending with the king of all texture sprays, here is my hair care and styling routine.
Shampoo & Conditioner
First things first: clean hair. I usually have a few shampoos and conditioners on the go and standing up on my bath as I like to test different products and use different ranges based on how my hairs feeling but the one I'm using daily at the moment is the Kérastase Aura Botanica Shampoo and Conditioner*. It's a combination I love and one that keeps my hair super soft, shiny and healthy looking, preventing any dryness due to being sulphate free and it's heavenly dup of Coconut and Argan oils which give it a super natural scent. Sticking with the natural hair products, I love using the Aveeno Skin Relief Shampoo* for a super gentle cleanse. It's formulated with finely milled Colloidal Oatmeal to help restore moisture, it's perfect for everyday use and for those with a sensitive scalp or dry hair.
Styling & Finishing Sprays
Once I've towel dried my hair I always reach for my Mane 'n Tail Hair Strengthener Leave in Conditioner* and spritz a light mist of this all over, focussing on the lengths to ends as too much in the roots can make my hair feel greasy. This product just gives my hair an extra layer of hydration, keeps the frizz obey and gives my hair a post conditioner treat. I love any product that's going to give my hair a bit of extra volume so I always go in with the Rahua Voluminous Spray* next which is an ultra fine mist that smells super fruity and fresh and adds a little bit of oomph to my hair. I focus this underneath my layers to really lift the roots and then brush through with a Tangle Teezer.
Once I've finished adding extra hydration and volume to my hair, it's time to tame any unruly strays and to do this, I use the SHOW Beauty Riche Grooming Balm* which is a light pink moisture-rich balm that works at controlling any frizz, fly-aways and fine hair that just doesn't sit straight. It's a super smooth balm that isn't too heavy so there's never a worry that it's going to leave my hair feeling greasy or weighed down. I'll rough dry my hair with a hair-dryer after this step and the balm always makes a huge difference in the smoothness of my blow-dried locks. No frizz and no flicky fringe. I've been trying out the Phyto Botanical Straightening Balm lately which is another great product for taming frizz. It's more of a gel formula as opposed to the SHOW balm but works just as well at keeping everything under control.
Once I've treated and styled my hair I always finish it off with a spritz of the SHOW Beauty Working Texture Spray* which works as a two in one hairspray and texture spray. The key ingredients of volcanic ash and wheat amino acids create immense volume and texture to my hair that give it an instant undone and carefree look. Unlike most hairsprays, SHOW have added in botanical extracts such as Aloe Vera and Mango to keep the scalp hydrated and hair shiny. Despite being a hairspray in addition to texture, my hair always remains super glossy looking.
