My Favourites: August Edit
August has come to an end which means one thing, my 6 week Croatia adventure has started and as you're reading this, I'll be a few days into my trip. August for me has been all about skincare and haircare, my makeup has stayed pretty minimal and the same throughout August, I'm still using my trusty dewy and light bases, cream bronzers and brow gels but there is a new nude lip in town. Skincare wise, it's been all about prepping my skin for the sun, boosting glow and moisture. Hair has been very textured, tousled and beach inspired.
Vichy Aqualia Serum*: Hydration, hydration, hydration. The word my skincare routine is based around, particularly when it comes to serum, where I reach for something that is enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and Water to quench my skins thirst every morning. This soothing, hydrating and fortifying serum from Vichy has been replenishing my skins moisture levels for the past month, providing me with deep penetration and daily protection from pollution and other environmental aggressors.
Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Cream*: Anything Rose scented, I love and when it comes to skincare, it's an ingredient I always look out due to it's beautiful scent and incredibly intense moisturising, soothing and nourishing properties. For the last two weeks of August, I've been in Croatia where hydration is key and being enriched with Plum seed oil to hydrate and maintain a glow, Hyaluronic Acid to delivered huge amounts of deep hydration and Angelica Leaf to retain this added moisture, it's like a moisturising layer of protection over my skin that soothes from a day in the sun and keeps my complexion looking supple and healthy.
Fresh Peony Brightening Night Treatment Mask*: Brightening masks, Vitamin C and again, Hyaluronic Acid are three of my favourite things in the skincare world. This intensive overnight treatment from Fresh not only brightened and gave my complexion an intense amount of hydration pre-flight to Croatia but it's been perfect for applying whilst out here to replenish and preserve hydration levels, brighten and even my skin tone from the Vitamin C, Peony and Liquorice Root Extract.
Origins Modern Friction Cleansing Stick*: Cleansing is one of the most important steps in my routine and whilst I love my gel, balm and oil cleansers, recently, I've adored using a cleansing stick. Modern Friction is easy to use, creamy, purifying without being stripping/drying, radiance boosting, exfoliating and leaves skin feeling super comfortable and clean. It's been the perfect travel cleanser as it takes up hardly any room, doesn't involve pump action and removes makeup with ease once massaged into a creamy formula.
Dior Whispering Beige Fluid Lipstick: Throughout the Summer months, I mainly use lip balms, tints or anything that hydrates, nourishes and adds a light amount of colour however when it comes to applying something a little more serious in the lipstick department, I've been using a new favourite form the Dior lip range. These 'Fluid Lipsticks' are a hybrid, providing the colour and intensity of lipstick and the shine of lip gloss. Their long lasting, fast drying, pigmented, drenched in a beautiful glossy finish that soon flatness and glide on with their precision tip applicator. Whispering Beige is the ultimate brown/neutral nude that works well alone with a touch of colour in the cheek or a very simple, 'barely there, no makeup, makeup look'.
Sachajuan Products: Sachajuan is one of my favourite haircare brands, they have a product for all hair types whether you're in need of thickening products, moisturising, volumising, beach texture, repair, styling products, sun protection or colour protection. Ocean Mist* has been my favourite hair product for about a year now, it's cult in my routine and acts as a mix between a sea salt spray and hairspray. It adds grip, without feeling tacky and texture without looking sticky, delivering hair that looks tousled and 'undone', as though you have just stepped off the beach. Hair in the Sun* is my current most reached for hair product out in Croatia. It's the perfect pre-beach, pool and sun exposure product as it features ocean technology and a UV filter that protect hair from damage, prevent colour fading and ensures hair is kept hydrated.
