Glossier Haul
It's here, the brand we've all been talking about. The one that's perfected their social media, created the most simple yet beautiful packaging and got their branding down to a T. Let's talk; GLOSSIER. As a firm believer that beauty starts with the skin, I can really resonate with Glossier's philosophy of "skin is essential", how beauty should be fun and their focus on creating products that make skin glow.
The Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser is the one product I'd always wanted to try after seeing it everywhere. Glossier say, it's a gentle daily face wash, suitable for all skin types that dissolves away all makeup and dirt that's built up on the skin throughout the day. This creamy gel cleanser is pH-balanced and a blend of Rosewater to soothe and hydrate, Comfrey Root Extract to heal stressed skin, Aquaxyl to refill skins water reserve and prevent dehydration, Pro-Vitamin B5, a natural moisturiser and Poloxamer, a mild cleansing agent. Reviews say it's similar to the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel (which is one of my favourite cleansers) so I put it to the test and so far, it's a winner; very similar in consistency to Oskia, just an unscented and more affordable option. I first applied this to dry skin and lightly massaged it in all over my face in circler motions, the cleanser is not at all 'milky' and is a gel consistency from start to finish, no foaming or lathering, just a rich gel that removed all impurities, makeup and mascara, leaving my skin feeling super soft and looking clean, bright and radiant. Verdict? It's on my bathroom shelf and it's staying. Milky Jelly Cleanser back-up, needed.
As far as highlighters go, cream highlights are my top pick so the Haloscopes were top of my list to try when Glossier hit the UK. These chubby, wind-up highlighter sticks are a skincare and makeup duo; a solid oil core of Vitamins to moisturiser and give a hydrated, natural, dewy finish and a crystal extract infused outer ring for giving skin a lit from within sheen. I've got the shade Moonstone which is an opalescent, very natural looking pale highlight with a smidge of shimmer which doesn't show up on my skin at the moment as I've been in the sun for 6 weeks and simply act's like more of an ultra glossy highlight, as opposed to something too shimmery. They're comfortable, super moisturising, natural looking and last all day. The Haloscopes also come in Topaz which is a golden bronze and Quartz, a pinky pearlescent.
As a girl with normal skin that is very dehydrated, the Glossier Priming Moisturiser stood out to me from the start. It's one of Glossier's original skincare products and is a primer, moisturiser and glow booster in one. You could put this in either category and use it purely as your moisturiser and primer in one but in my case, as my skin needs all the moisture it can get, I apply my normal day cream in the morning and apply this before my base makeup to act as an ultra hydrating primer. It's ideal for pre-foundation prep, it smooths, brightens, soothe and evens the skin, creating an ideal blank canvas to work with. Ingredients wise, it's got Hyaluronic Acid which is a skincare essential for hydration, Mushroom Super Hydrator which is a powerful plan extract helping to plump skin, an Anti-Redness Complex soothing mix of honey and tea and Vitamins A, C, E for protection. Pretty good, right?
