Get Up & Glow

Makeup routine wise, things are looking super quick, light, glowy and minimal these days. I rarely spend more than 10 minutes in-front of the mirror these days as I'm either applying it in a big rush or I don't need/want to put a full face on. Skincare has always been my thing and what I focus on the most so this plays a huge factor in my path to glowing skin but makeup, can just take it the extra mile with a cream highlighter here and there/dotted anywhere. I recently wrote about what's inside my current makeup bag (post here) featuring the products that are currently on rotation, still all very creamy and quick to apply but I was playing around with some different products this week (trying to create the ultimate wake up, splash the face with water, slap on a mixture of illuminating products look) and it turned out to be a super easy everyday makeup look that oozes with glow.

First things first, I smooth some Origins VitaZing* all over my face which adds a very light tint of colour, evens out my skin tone and gets my SPF protection in. I've only recently started using this but I'll either wear it alone for just a light tint and added glow or in this case, I've been wearing it underneath my foundation as it preps the skin beautifully. It's one of my new favourite products. I've been doing some mixing of bases this week by either adding drops of face oils or liquid highlighters into foundations to alter the coverage and finish. My current go-to glow duo is one pump of the BECCA Opal Liquid Shimmering Skin Perfecter mixed into one pump of the Estee Edit Skin Glowing Balm which I buff in with a kabuki, fluffy foundation brush (or a damp sponge if I have a few spare minutes).

Once the base is on, it's time to add some colour and definition and for this, I use my NARS South Beach Multiple which is a warm-toned, shimmering bronze creamy sheer stick for cheeks, eyes, lips. I draw this on straight on to the apples of my cheeks and in the hollows, across my temples and down my nose to warm up my face and to do a bit of subtle sculpting but also adding a soft highlight that reflects a lovely bronze glow when it catches the light. To enhance the glow my base and bronzer have given me and to give me the ultimate radiant skin look, I dab on the BECCA Moonstone Shimmering Skin Poured Crème Highlighter on my cheek bones, brow bones, cupids bow and down the centre of my nose. The easy to blend, cream formula gives a lovely soft focus, champagne gold pearl highlight to my skin, creating a naturally lit from within ethereal glow.
