What's On My Bathroom Shelf
Oh the bathroom shelfie... one of my life dreams is to have a mirrored medicine cabinet in my bathroom filled with all of my skincare products but for now, I'm working with half a shelf (shared with my flatmate) and keep it streamlined with products I'm currently testing, new in and old favourites. I have my current daily skincare routine with my most reached for masks, favourite cleansers and a few options for oils, creams and serums. Having just moved back to uni and unpacked, I've had a skincare purge/re-arrangement and thought it would be a good time to share with you what is currently on my bathroom shelf.
As I said, storage wise its pretty minimal in my bathroom so on my bathroom sheflie I keep my current routine and some other products I'm either testing or old favourites I go back to time and time again. The remainder of my skincare products live in Muji storage on a chest of drawers in my bedroom but thats another post for another day.
Today, it's all about the bathroom.
Starting with cleaners, toners, essences micellar waters and exfoliators, I keep these all in close proximity so it's easy to get my makeup off, do some toning and add a splash of essence if necessary. I like to keep about 3 cleansers on my shelf at all times as I quite often switch between them depending on how my skins feeling, how much makeup I've got on and if its morning or evening. Currently, I'm using the Antipodes Hallelujah Lime and Pathchouli Cleanser* in the evenings to remove my makeup. It's a super thick cream, ultra hydrating and gets everything off really easily. I'm switching between this and the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser in the evenings and in the mornings, I love to use something brightening and the Elemental Herbology Vital Cleanse is a mix of Papaya and Manuka Honey which really help to boost my glow in the mornings and wake my skin up.
I've been using the Caudalie Micellar Water for removing any eye and brow makeup and have just started testing the Avène Clearance Micellar Water* for around the face. Extra products in the cleanser/toner section include the Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator* which is made from Avocado Oil making it extremely gentle and hydrating and the Jurlique Activating Water Essence*.
Serums, oils and moisturiser all sit together and are my favourites on the shelf. I've got quite a few stacked up here as I've just added a few newbies into my routine but also like to have a good selection to choose from for when my skin needs some more targeted products. Medik8 is a new favourite brand of mine and I'm currently using the Hydr8 B5* which is an incredibly light, clear, hydrating serum, C-Tetra* which is a low dose of Vitamin C and great for skin in it's early 20's and the Glow Oil* which contains Vitamin C and Omegas.
The Darphin Essential Oil Elixirs* are two of my favourite facial oils and the two I use are Rose and Vetiver, both incredibly nourishing and feel beautiful on the skin. I always keep a bottle of the Pai Rosehip Oil* as it's such a skincare hero, treating all problems from dryness, blemishes, pigmentation and dehydration. Moisturiser wise, I've stacked up mu Origins Ginzing* which is my current day cream but also have the Kat Burki Vitamin C Cream, Avène Hydrance Emulsion* and Avène Cold Cream*.
I keep a few eye-creams on rotation as sometimes use a more brightening one in the mornings such as the Origins GinZing or Antipodes Manuka Honey and in the evenings, opt for something rich and thick to work on rehydrating the eye area and helping to reduce my dark circles and prevent fine lines. My favourites for this are the Colbert MD Nourish Eye Cream, Zelens Triple Action Eye Cream* and Jurlique Advanced Herbal Recovery Eye Serum*
Face masks are one of my favourite products to buy and use and I love to stack my favourites and most reached for up on my bathroom shelfie. Fresh are my absolute favourite brand for face masks and I love the Peony Brightening Night Treatment Mask* and Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask*. Kiehl's are another beloved brand for masks and the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energising Radiance Masque has been a favourite for years. It's such a great skin fix for when my complexion looks dull or feels tired and is a wonderful early morning mask. At the top of my mask pile is my most luxurious one and one that I only use when my skin really needs it and this is the Zelens Instant Renewal Mask* - it's literally a pearly, luminizing goop and makes skin look INCREDIBLE. For stressed skin days, I use the Darphin Vetiver Oil Mask* which smells divine, feels so hydrating and soothing on the skin and instantly brings back my glow.
I hope you enjoyed seeing what's on my skincare shelf! What are your current favourite skincare products?
