With Spring being my favourite season of the year in regards to beauty, I couldn't be any more excited and I'm already rounding up my light moisturisers, glow boosting serums, fresh bases and cream blend formulas. With (supposedly) brighter days, more sunshine and the warmer weather, I like to strip back my makeup routine completely and rebuild it entirely, whether that means completely revamping what's being used or simply applying some of my all year round beauty favourites in a different, more simplified way. I always address my skincare in the mornings and evenings dependant on how my skin feels and this way, I have a clear, glowing base to work with, meaning I don't have to spend as much time in the mornings perfecting my base and I can let me skin naturally glow and just enhance this with my favourite products. Here's a simple, fresh and glowy routine for Spring with some of the products that I am loving right now.
Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boost Base / On the days when my skin is a little uneven in texture or has small areas of redness around my nose then I'll apply half a pump of this and smooth it all over to provide an even skin tone that is one colour and ready for any makeup going on top. The light reflecting particles provide naturally luminous flawless looking skin which is just what I need for Spring.
Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation / This is a total wonder product in the beauty department for me and a product that can bring a dull complexion to life in seconds. The lightweight formula with SPF15 has been my skin saviour for the past months, I apply the smallest amount onto the areas that need coverage and really buff it out with a brush which gives the most natural, glowy finish. Since I don't like anything that clings to my face or adds more coverage than I need, this is a beautiful option that takes my look from day to night. For an even more luminous finish, I mix a glow boosting primer in which just lights up face and creates a really lovely sheen on the skin.
Bobbi Brown Nude Brightening Powder / Once the base is on, if I'm going to be out all day or am in London for the day then I sweep a light dusting of an all over illuminating powder to give the skin a healthy glow without adding in too much glitter. The finely milled powder sets the makeup all day without caking or drying out the skin and keeps that fresh glow glistening.
Clinique Berry Pop Blush / One way to brighten your face after you've applied your base products is to use a brightly coloured blush as this will create a healthy, naturally flushed glow to the apples of the cheeks. Focussing on the top half of my cheeks, I tap on this vibrant burst of colour which adds effortless looking colour, boosting a Spring glow.
Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Champagne / To keep the eye lids bare for a day time look, I've been applying this neutral shadow from Bobbi Brown which helps to brighten and widen the eye without having to wear numerous shades. The silky formula of these powders make application effortless and easy, giving me the perfect everyday eye in seconds, applied with either my fingers or a brush.
The Balm Cosmetics Nude'Tude Palette / When a simple wash of colour isn't enough and I want to build the colour up on the eye, I reach for this beautifully neutral palette that has colours for all occasions. Stand-offish and Stubborn, are my most reach for two pink hues, which when used together create a pretty, pink semi shimmer eye that tones down a makeup look and makes the face look fresh and awake for Spring.
Clarins Instant Light Natural Perfector / My go to lip look these days is a pale pink or a muted nude that is easy wearing, balmy and keeps my lips hydrated and this award winning lip balm from Clarins creates an ideal Spring lip. The soft texture has a sheer finish that provides my lips with a gentle gloss and makes them appear plumper, brighter and more enhanced. I either wear this alone or over a lined lip for a more precise, perfected look.
Revlon Colour Burst Lacquer Balm in Demure* / For a less glossy, more matte yet still hydrated lip, I'll smooth on this beautiful soft pink shade which tints the lip and creates a lovely lip look that compliments a natural eye and the pink cheeks.
