An Autumn Evening Routine

Since Autumn is in full swing and the cold weather has arrived, I've been changing around my skincare routine recently and have added in richer, more intense products that give me some serious hydration and radiance boosts. With the weather being colder, my skin's moisture levels drop rapidly so ensuring I use products that keep my skin soft and hydration is vital. With a pretty simply morning routine, I love to spend time in the evenings removing my makeup properly and layering on the serums and creams to give my skin the boost it needs. I've been loving cleansing balms to break down my makeup, masks to revive and serums to illuminate. With some new brand discoveries and some new favourites on my skincare shelf, here's my current routine...

Step 1 - CLEANSE | The first thing I do when I walk through the door after a long day is take my makeup off, I usually go in with a micellar water to remove my mascara then attack my base with cleanser. My current go to cleansing balm is the Trilogy Makeup Be Gone Cleansing Balm* which is formulated with mango, rose hip and coconut, making it the most delicious smelling product. This thick, luxurious balm removes foundation and lipstick with ease, the balmy texture melts away makeup whist nourishing the skin with the pure plant oils. I simply apply 2 teaspoons to my face and massage it in, in circular motions and rinse off with a warm muslin cloth to reveal a supple, radiant complexion. The scent of this cleanser is absolutely heavenly, with a blend of mango and coconut, it is incredibly nourishing and fresh smelling whilst the rosehip really helps to relax you and treat the skin. This is an ideal product for A/W that cleanses, hydrates and treats the skin.

Step 2 - MASK | About twice a week I go in with a face mask one my makeup has been remove,d I find after a full day of makeup, my skin can become congested and look a little dull so using something like the Elemis Fruit Active Rejuvenating Mask* means I can really treat my skin and bring it back to norma. This creamy textured luxury is packed full of active extracts that really get into the skin and bring back its glow. With kiwi fruit and strawberry, the scent is divine and it is the perfect pick me up for a lacklustre, tired complexion, the perfect mid week treat.   For a real skin boost then I'll apply this in the morning to really awaken and bring my face to life in the mornings.

Step 3 - EYE CREAM | Being prone to dark circles and a dehdyrated eye area, I can't go a day without applying my favourite cream. The Malin and Goetz Rice Bran Eye Cream completely changed my eye area and it's been a staple in my routine since the summer. You only need the tiniest amount of this stuff and when applied with the ring finger, it pats into the skin well and doesn't leave any stickiness or greasy residue, the moisture penetrates the area ready to re hydrate and brighten your eyes.

Step 4 - SERUM | Serums are the one product that do some serious goodness to your skin, with each one having a different purpose but each one being packed full of goodness and skin benefiting ingredients, they are a good product to have in your routine and really make a difference to your overall skins look and feel. The Pestle & Mortar Hyaluronic Serum* is the ultimate multi tasking product in your regime, the velvety liquid targets dullness, soothes fine lines, restores hydration and overall reveals a brighter complexion and being suitable for all skin types, it really is a dream product. With Vitamin E, this stuff really pumps in the hydration and you can say goodbye to a dry face with this little bottle, simply apply 2-3 drops over night and leave it to work its magic.

Step 4 - NIGHT CREAM | On the days when my skin is feeling particularly troubled and it needs some serious TLC then I bring out the Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Creme*. This is a lightweight moisturiser that can be applied alone or over serum and works on improving your skins condition over night. With powerful ingredients and a super duper rich formula, it works on balancing and brightening your skin whilst boosting a healthy glow that appears younger and smoother. Not only does this work as a moisturiser, it doubles up as a mini exfoliant as the fruit acid complex lightly exfoliates over night and breaks down any dread skin cells, boosting skins appearance. The Vitamin C helps boost your collagen production and the Shea Butter is perfect for dry skin as it re hydrates and acts as a natural remedy.
