My Birthday Makeup Look

Being a summer baby n all, my birthday makeup looks usually consist of a light base, fresh cheeks, a champagne eye and something balmy and hydrating on the lips. Basically, nothing special or different to what I usually slap on my face every day. However, to celebrate my 19th year of being on the planet I thought I would opt for something a little bit different on the eyes and lip but as the weather is supposed to be super duper hot on Friday, I won't be building up tooooo many products and am going to try to keep it minimal in the product department.

To keep my skin looking fresh and dewy, I'm applying a squidge of the Lancome La Base Pro Hydra Glow Primer which just adds some hydration, gives me an all over glow and prepares my skin for anything that's going on top. I'm cracking out my favourite long wearing foundation today - Giorgio Armarni Luminous Silk, as I need something that makes my skin look dewy but something that will last for hours. This is dreamy skin in a bottle for me, the incredibly light consistency blends beautifully into the skin like silk and creates a flawless base for any other products. With a glow that still looks natural and skin like, this is an ideal birthday base. A concealer that doubles up as a dark circle beater and an under eye highlight is great when you're trying to avoid using lots of products so for this, I'm striping on some EstÄ“e Lauder BB Brush On Glow as it's one of the best concealers for under the eye without being thick and cakey.

I'm using my NARS Brow Gel to fill in my eye brows as I don't want anything too heavy that will slide off in the heat so a gel that simply makes your brows look fuller and will keep your hairs locked in place all day is the perfect long wearing product. Next I'm going to be spicing up my eyes and I'm taking the shade Lysithea from my NARS Dual Intensity Palette all over the lid. This is a beautiful soft shark grey that I apply wet on my brush for a really intense metallic finish that melts into your eye lids. I want to keep things relatively simple on the eyes so instead of building up 3 different colours, I'm leaving it there and am going to use Sycoraxx, a midnight blue, as a liner and apply it nice and close to my lash line, blending it out as I go. I've been loving my Benefit Roller Lash recently for really thick dramatic lashes so I'm applying 2 coats of this to finish off the eye look.

To add some colour and structure back into my face, I'm dusting some of my favourite ever bronzer - NARS Laguna, where the sun would naturally hit with a large fluffy brush. This is the perfect bronzer for a birthday makeup look as it's so luxurious and the cool toned matte powder creates an incredibly natural looking sun kissed face. As for highlighter, I'm dabbing on some Benefit High Beam to the tops of my cheek bones, down the bridge of my nose, my cupids bow and my brow bones. For a birthday blush, I just have to use my NARS Orgasm as it is my all time favourite blush, so I blend some of this onto the apples of my cheeks with a flat top brush for fresh Spring like cheeks. Lastly, I'm dabbing on one of my favourite lipsticks at the moment - Lipstick Queen Saint Eden which is a lightly pigmented rich red that looks like satin on the lips.
