October Favourites

Octobers been a pretty makeup crazy month for me. There's been some new skincare loves, lots of Autumnal beauty additions and a few old favourites that have been brought back into my makeup bag. From a deep plum lipstick to a killer contour powder, I feel Octobers been a true A/W month with lots of new bits on the scene that keep my face looking Autumn-y and fresh. With some high end Chanel offerings and budget friendly Soap and Glory skincare saviours, I've been using a mix of both drugstore and luxe makeup this month, keeping things in the loop and re introducing products to my face. I've also got a MAC lipstick to talk to you about because what kind of October favourites would this be without a famous berry MAC lipstick?

I feel October is an important month for skincare as the weather drops in temperature and my skin goes from having a healthy glow to looking dull and feeling dehydrated. Switching up your skincare regime to suit the seasons is as important as switching from a dress to a chunky jumper, you need those extra layers of hydration and many a mask to bring everything back to normal. To cater for the change in my skin, I've been using three stand out products that have made a huge difference in my skins appearance. Starting with the Antipodes Light Rejoice Day Cream*, I've been using this stuff for months now but I'm starting to really notice the benefits since my skin has become a little more on the dry side. The thick, creamy formula has a delicious scent of vanilla and almond which is incredibly soothing upon application and despite being pretty thick in consistency, it applies really light weight and doesn't feel at all greasy or tacky. This has ben my daily moisturiser throughout September and October as it works perfectly under makeup and really aids in replenishing my hydration levels and improving my skins glow.

As an intensive over night treatment, I've been applying a layer of the Soap and Glory Beauty Sleep Accelerator* which is a really great product. I've been loving using this lately for it's fresh fruity scent and buttery formula. This really penetrates my skin over night, fixing my hydration levels and creating smooth complexion in the morning. As my skin has been looking a little dull lately, I've been relying on the Soap and Glory Bright Here, Bright Now Primer* as a morning glow booster. The illuminating light cream smoothes over the skin and creates the illusion of a much brighter, more radiant complexion, enhancing ones natural skin.

Now for my daily base when I leave the house, I've basically been using the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation everyday, it's my go to foundation for a light coverage and dewy finish. The light particles reflect of the skin creating radiance and a beautiful all over glow. This blends in really quickly and is super duper easy to apply! I've simply been going in with a light layer of this most days and then applying some concealer under my eye to cover my circles and brighten. I've been switching up my lip products the most this month and have two favourites that I've been wearing the most. Starting with the most Autumnal of them all, we have MAC Rebel, a deep plum berry shade that is the ultimate A/W lip. To keep things easy, I've been applying a really light layer of this all over and blending it out until I have a light stain which lasts all day and keep my lips moisturised. For a stronger and more of an evening offering, of course I've been using my NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Marjella, the ideal red lip for an easy everyday shade or a bold evening look. Paired with a strong contour and a muted blush, this is a lovely lip look.

Speaking of contour, I've been using my Kevyn Aucoin Medium Sculpting Powder to create killer cheek bones this month. The cool toned powder sculpts and defines my cheeks in a natural, non dramatic manner. When taking my makeup from day to night, this is perfect as it dusts on easily and really emphasis the entire look. I have been mixing it up a bit with eye shadow this month and the one I've been reaching for a lot is my Chanel Stylo Eye Shadow in Caroube, the smokey bronze shade, I've spoken about this so much before but it's such a beautiful colour that goes with any makeup look. I've been swiping on a small amount for a messy day to day look that appears effortless and chic.

What have been your favourites this month?
