New In | Skincare
If you've been having a scroll through my blog recently then you may have noticed that I've been a bit skincare crazy and have picked up a few more products than normal this past month, but since my skin had a mini break down and lost it's glow, a few spots appeared and it just looked dull, I wanted a total revamp and searched for some products that would really make a difference. Once of the main excitements behind new skincare for me, is trying out new brands and working out what works for you and what you need to give a miss in the future. Two brands that have hit my shelves recently are Antipodes and Jurlique - I've never tried Antipodes before but after seeing glowing review after review of the Manuka Honey mask, I knew it was one I needed to give a go and as for Jurlique, well, I was lucky enough to win their competition of receiving some bits from the Herbal Recovery range. Bingo. As for adapting my diet to help my skin glow, I'm trying to drink more and more water to give my skin some serious hydration, butttttt there's nothing a new cleanser and oil can't fix eh.
When it comes to cleansers, it's safe to say I've had my fair share and have been testing different formula's, brands and consistency's for god knows how long now. Oil after oil, to balms, gels and waters, I've come to the fact that when it comes to removing all my makeup, nothing beats a thick cream which is packed with moisture and oils. So, after using Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish for years, which by all means, is still a firm favourite, I wanted to treat myself and step it up a notch, which was when I came across the Antipodes Hallelujah Lime and Petchouli Cleanser. Made with 100% natural ingredients and having a base of avocado oil, this cream cleanser removes all traces of makeup and impurities, leaving me with the radiant skin I dream of. Something I love about Antipodes skincare is the packaging, the sturdy glass bottles sit perfectly on my shelf (not so great for travelling) and this cleanser comes with what I would call the 'perfect pump'. The ideal partner you need to pair with the Hallelujah cleanser, is the Divine Avocado and Rosehip Face Oil. This daily face oil is skin cares answer to de-stressed, revitalised, nourished and healthy looking skin. The natural ingredients of avocado and rose hip oil ensure boosted collagen production, dark spot reduction and non existing fine lines. This really is youthful looking skin in a bottle. For best results, I apply this daily as part of my night time routine and if my skin is feeling like it still needs a boost in the morning then I add a few drops onto my skin before my moisturiser. Since using both these together, I've seen noticeable differences in my skins appearance, my once dull skin is no where to be seen and I've been left with a glowing, clear complexion.
A brand I swoon over every time I step foot in SpaceNK is Jurlique. Having only tried their Rose Face Mist, Handcream and Lipbalm (bit of a rose scent addict) I was dying to try some of their other skincare bits so when I saw they were holding a competition on Twitter to win the Herbal Recovery Duo, I made sure I entered and to my surprise, I was a lucky winner. WOOO. Anyway, onto the actual products. The Herbal Recovery range is aimed to target dull skin, any signs of early ageing and skin which needs that radiance boost. Although I don't need anti ageing products as I'm only 18, I'm all for radiant, glowing skin so this was right up my street. First off, we have the Advanced Serum which is an active gel concentrate that you smooth onto cleansed skin both morning and night before you go in with your moisturiser of choice. The silky soft texture has visably reduced the appearance of fine lines, restored all levels of hydration and radiance whilst protecting my skin from any nasties hanging around in the environment. Without a doubt, this is the most beneficial, fantastic and skin changing serum I've ever tried and tested, I will definitely be heading back to SpaceNK to pick up the full size when this one runs out. To really give my skin that hydration boost and protection, I use the Advanced Eye Serum which too is enriched with Naturevive PB18+ to reduce any signs of fatigue and to keep your delicate eye area hydrated. Radiant skin and radiant eyes, what more could I ask for? The night cream for my birthday? A little top tip the Jurlique team let me in on, on Twitter is to keep the eye serum in the fridge to give your tired eyes a morning treat of refreshment and revitalisation.
Have you tried any of Antipodes or Jurlique skincare?
