Todays Makeup #5
One of the main things I love about Spring is just how fresh makeup can get. There's nothing quite like the feeling of being able to slap on products that don't look or feel to heavy, don't take minutes to buff in, nothing that makes your face look flat or powdery, everything is so fresh and light in my Spring makeup bag and it's becoming my new favourite season for makeup. As always, I'm still trusting SpaceNK to dish me out an illuminating base and with the help of my other high end brand favourites, highlighted cheek bones, bronzy eyes and a coral lip are all on the cards for something fresh, light and long lasting.
After I've cleansed my skin with Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, toned with The Body Shop Vitamin E and moisturised with Lush Million Dollar, my skin is prepped, looking radiant and ready for some extra illumination and a little coverage. Of course I am reaching for my Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser to even out my skin, provide a sheer coverage and most importantly of all, the most beautiful luminous glow. The only way to describe this product is healthy, glowing skin in a bottle and if you're healthy looking base crazy like me then go splash ya' cash on this. Despite being able to get away with a light coverage base at the moment, sadly I can't get away with no under eye concealer as dark circles do still exist in my world, so to brighten & lighten the area, I add 3 dots of Urban Decay Naked Concealer in a triangle and blend it all in with a fluffy brush. The creaminess of this makes it such a dream to blend in, it takes seconds and doesn't mattify or flatten the area.
I actually move straight onto the eyes after this and am still loving my Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Two Cents which is a beautiful metallic polished copper that creates a wash of imense intensity and looks 'fresh & fabulous' all day. I leave they eyes there for now, keeping things simple but sophisticated with a coating of mascara to lengthen and curl. I've been love love loving the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara* recently as the thick brush adds an incredible amount of volume and drama without clumping my lashes together. For brows, gone are the days when I spend 5 minutes pencilling them in to perfection, ensuring there aren't any over drawn lines or hairs that haven't been filled in and keep everything very easy with a quick brush through with my NARS Brow Gel to add a bit of colour and to hold them in place.
For the cheeks, I've actually just been going in with a cream highlighter and avoiding bronzer/blush all together as I want to really focus on the glowing complexion and instead of my usual Benefit High Beam, my MAC Hush Cream Colour Base has been living in my makeup bag for the past week or two. The peachy champagne shade works beautifully with the golden tinted moisturiser and really compliments the glow, adding to the whole fresh faced look. To finish of the look and to complete the 'sunkissed' look, I dab a small amount of Benefit Cha Cha Tint for a coral stain which looks ultra fresh and is the perfect S/S lip shade. Result.
