The Products That Never Let Me Down

In amongst our rather large makeup collections, we all have the products that never let us down and ones we always reach for if we are unsure on what to use. Whether it's a blush that gives you the perfect fresh cheeks, an eyeliner which gives the precise flick or a foundation that gives you flawless skin, we all have our failsafe products that we just love and keep going back to. I thought it was time to dedicate a post to some of my favourite ever beauty products, and although I have many that never let me down, it wasn't that hard picking out a top 4 as these are all stand out products...

NARS Dual Intensity Eye Shadow Palette: If I was to categorise this product, it would be under all sorts of awesomeness. Competing against Bobbi Brown, Benefit, Laura Mercier, this beats them all. The creamy, buttery powders give a gorgeous sheen and can be used wet for an intense metallic eye, the finishes available are just beautiful. However long you wear these for, they never ever crease and are the most long lasting shadows I have used, after 8 hours, it looked as though I had just applied it. It is very rare you find a palette that you really love all of the colours in, but NARS have smashed it with this release and there is every colour you need for any makeup look- champagne, pink, bronze, berry, brown, a smokey eye, you name it, this NARS palette has got it. For a daily go-to look then the top row is ideal but for a more cool toned, evening look, then the bottom row is what I'll go for, or you can just mix around with them all. Whatever floats ya' boat.

Soap and Glory Thick & Fast Mascara: I can always rely on this mascara to give me big, fluttery lashes. The fat wand adds a tonne of volume and intensity to the lashes, giving you sweeping curls that last all day. With a coating of black drama, lashes are left looking fabulous, leaving you to dazzle with your eye. Despite Charlotte Tilbury and YSL are pretty high up there in the mascara department, I know I can always trust S&G.

NARS Multi Protect Primer: Before I picked up this transforming product, I was totally against primers, I didn't see the point in them and thought that slapping on an extra cream won't effect the finish of your makeup or how long it lasts. Boy was I wrong... I don't know what I was doing with my base before I tried this. When my skin is feeling a bit dull and grey, this is an instant pick me up, I apply a layer under my foundation and it's like a drink of water for my skin. My moisture levels are instantly replenished, I suddenly have radiance and my foundation smooths on like a dream. I've tried other primers, but nothing compares to my NARS, like every other NARS product I own, I am totally obsessed. Standard.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturisers:

Possibly the one product I go on and on and on about on JHM... but when it come to tinted moisturisers, I think Laura Mericer. With a choice of three, they have one for every skin type. For the oily skinned girl we have the Oil Free option. The liquid formula controls any excess oils but still creates a flawless, radiant base with a light build-able coverage. If you're like me and love glowing, illuminated skin then the Illuminating version will be the one for you. With the same light build-able coverage, this incredibly glowing product gives a youthful, radiant look which creates an even, hydrated base. If you have normal skin but don't want anything really illuminating, then the one for All Skin Types is your best bet. A sheer coverage which adds a hint of colour and blurs any imperfections, creating the perfect summer base to work with. With an SPF 20 in each, your skin is protected and damaged free.
